Facebook Status Update from SMS Text

Saw my friend's status update from text message. So I joined the bandwagon.

Kindle iPhone App Search and Dictionary Functions

Love these functions. With these functions on iPhone, I probably won't
buy a kindle device for now.

Sanzai.co.jp 散財 Money Logging Starts

I was inspired by a young millionaire who retired at 30 years old. She worked for 16 years of her life, and she had many notebooks detailing every single dollar she spent. "I want to know whether I have spent or saved each single dollar."
The idea was very interesting. I did some book keeping on my spending before, but I never could tell where every dollar had gone.
Yesterday, I saw my friend has a sanzai list on her blog, and I thought it would be nice to give it a try.
I can input my spending through browser, or simply sending an email with a few lines. Let's hope I can keep up the effort of logging m spendings.

Street Fighter II on iPhone for free

Goldman told me this and I found it hard to believe. Free street

The Gadget Show Broadband Campaign

Simply do a broadband speed test at the Gadget Show website to join the campaign.
http://fwd.five.tv/adv/broadbandspeedtest

The campaign is to gather enough data to stop Internet Service Providers (ISP) from lying to us about how fast the broadband speed really is.

Bill Hung's Sina Weibo page

Started a twitter-like weibo page on sina, because my friend Jansen Chow is micro-blogging there.

t.sina.com.cn Twitter function

The twitter-function implemented on sina.com.cn supports pictures. twitter.com only recently starts to support pictures.
In addition, the geotag from iphone pictures got pulled out from the picture and can show the location on a chinese google map pop-up.

There's a "get the sofa" button at the bottom, which encourages people to comment on others who are micro-blogging at close physical locations.

Shopping at Langham Place Hong Kong

My final evening in Hong Kong was spent shopping at Langham Place. Langham Place is a 12-storey shopping mall and office complex. It has a big H&M at the ground floor. Inside, you can find long escalators that take you all the way up to the 12th floor, and u can spend your time gradually walking your way down.

Traditional Chinese Keyboard

Visiting the two places - Hong Kong and Taiwan - where Traditional Chinese is still used. They have QWERTY keyboards like this.

Farmville. Done.

I started playing farmville 7 months ago in Hong Kong, and I ironically finished the game in Hong Kong today. When I am staying only one night here.
Level 70 was the original farmville final stage. Over these 7 months, I gained 10 levels per month. That's one level every 3 days. This journey was a test of my ability to pursuit my goals. Over the course of 7 months, I set many goals. From testing the limit of my patience, to testing the limit of my boredom tolerance, to learning how to co-op with people, and to buying the expensive 600k Estate home. The most important test I passed was the test of not giving up. Done. And "Done is the engine of more." (Cult of Done)

Segway Owner Running off the Cliff

This is the saddest news about Segway.
The news went on and said this guy, Jimi Heselden, actually grew up in Leeds in UK. And Segway is ironically illegal in Britain except in private property. He donated 10 million pound to charity a week ago before he died.
It's interesting that he has to make Segway big in the US instead of UK. I remember seeing police riding a Segway up the steep Berkeley slope back in College.

London BT Tower Open since 1981

This news from Sep 15, 2010 saying the BT Tower is opening that weekend, which is the first time since 1981. News from Metro or Evening Standard in London.

EpicWin on Game Magazine

Stumbled upon this iPhone app made by my friend Tak Fung. (He's the guy sitting at the left in my birthday party video). The magazine was either Edge, Develop, or Game (maybe MCV).
This game makes daily chore a RPG. You level up by completing things you have to do anyway.
By turning your life into RPG game, you can have thousands of hours of gameplay!

TV with subtitle in France

Second day in France, getting French TV with subtitle works already. And while I am typing this, WIFI and internet works too. We are probably one of the first ones to get internet, because everyone else seems to need to wait at least 2 weeks.

An almost 50 euro WinTV Mini stick from Hauppauge gets me 4 channels out of the 18 possible channels. =D
